sywren Report post Posted January 7, 2009 I'm trying to update the boyfriends PC (Windows XP). A few months ago I got labrat's ( ) cvs thingy with the "sto all" and "get all," so when I did the 1.8 update, I erased the old shortcuts and made new ones. The problem is, it won't connect to the server unless I type cvs back into that properties line. I don't know what a cvs is, but the pk server people are telling me that I should have some "mix all" button that I don't have, so I imagine it has something to do with this. Help? I checked the shortcut and it is exactly as you said ("C:\Program Files\Eternal Lands\el.exe" pk). So, I completely uninstalled the game and reinstalled it. Same thing. This is all I get on the log in page: using it... Couldn't find the GL_ARB_shader_objects extension, not using it... Couldn't find the GL_ARB_shading_language_100 extension, not using it... Couldn't find the GL_ARB_texture_mirrored_repeat extension, not using it... Couldn't find the GL_ARB_texture_rectangle extension, not using it... GL_EXT_fog_coord extension found, NOT using it... Couldn't find the GL_ATI_texture_compression_3dc extension, not using it... Couldn't find the GL_EXT_texture_compression_latc extension, not using it... Not using vertex program for actor animation. Error opening sound configuration file The location of the data files in use is ./ Your personal settings and logs will be saved in C:\Documents and Settings\Fuck You\My Documents/Eternal Lands/main/ Connecting to Server... Maxine Report post Posted January 8, 2009 In your error log the following line seems to indicate that it cannot find your data directory and it does not go to the default location: The location of the data files in use is ./Your personal settings and logs will be saved in C:\Documents and Settings\Fuck You\My Documents/Eternal Lands/main/ Connecting to Server... Can't connect to server Press any key to try again. Press Alt-x to close the game In the same directory as your el.exe file is the el.ini file. Open this file with a regular text editor (e.g. notepad) and find the line defining the data directory and replace it with the following line (or whatever the correct location of the program on your PC is): #data_dir = "c:\Program Files\Eternal Lands\" I hope this helps, good luck.
