Download Eternal Lands Game
Before downloading and playing the game:
• PLEASE READ THE LICENSE. - Playing the game means that you agreed with all the stuff there. The license is written in plain english, not in lawyers language, so it should be easily understood.

Most of the information contained in the above links is pretty important and will help you start the game easier.
• Also, please make sure you have a harware accelerated video card, with at least 32 MB of video memory, that supports at least OpenGL 1.3 natively.
To play on Windows:
Download the game, then simply double click on el_190_install.exe
To download the Windows version (48 MB), please chose one of the available mirrors (it doesn't matter which one). If your download speed is too low, you can try a different mirror.

To play on Macintosh:
Download the client and unzip it to the desired location..
Copy the EternalLands application to some folder (e.g. home/Games/).
Launch EternalLands. Enjoy!
If the game crashes, edit the file el.ini and look for the line: "#use_animation_program= 1". Replace 1 with 0, and start the game again.

To play on Linux (generic distro):
Download the zip file, and unzip it.
cd to the directory where you installed it.
There are 2 .bin files, one for 32b and the other for 64b. chmod the desired binary to 775, and execute it.
Edit el.ini and change datadir to where you unzip everything
The default base directory is called el_linux, and you might want to rename it to something else.
To play under FreeBSD, download the Linux version, download the code from the CVS, and use the freebsd make file.

Sound:
The sound is an optional package of 40MB. It is the same for all operating systems.
After you finished downloading it you will need to unzip it into the directory/folder where you installed the game in such a way so that you will have a sound directory in there.
Example for windows: the directory should look like: C:\Program Files\Eternal Lands\sound\
It should NOT look like this: C:\Program Files\Eternal Lands\sound\sound\
The sound is disabled by default in the client, so after you downloaded and installed the sound, you will have to go in the Options window of the game and enable the sound.

Music:
The music is also an optional download. Full package is about 67MB, or you can download it in 2 parts. Please follow the installation instructions listed above for sound, except for the music it must go in a music directory, so it should look like this: C:\Program Files\Eternal Lands\music\
